Taller de Teatro del Oprimido por Luna Theatre 2015
Luna Theatre
presenta el primer taller de teatro del oprimido de 2015 para latinos,
españoles y hispanohablantes. A lo largo de doce jornadas se irá experimentando
con las diferentes técnicas que Boal puso en práctica a lo largo de su vida
(teatro imagen, teatro foro) para ir descubriendo que opresiones, injusticias
nos atan como comunidad.
Se trata también
de un punto de encuentro entre inmigrantes a Londres y un lugar donde forjar
amistades y compromisos.
Teatro del
Oprimido es una técnica teatral creada en los 60 por Augusto Boal, que invita a
la participación tanto a actores
profesionales como no profesionales. A
lo largo de una batería de ejercicios, los participantes irán dando cuenta de
los micropoderes a los que estamos sometidos por nuestra condición de género,
de raza, de opción sexual o de país de origen.
A lo largo del
taller iremos utilizando imágenes corporales para expresar qué nos indigna de
la sociedad actual y establecer un plan de acción sobre ella. El taller tiene
como objetivo crear una pequeña pieza de teatro foro, en la que se invitará a
los espectadores a participar. Esta pieza de teatro foro se irá creando con la
ayuda de todos los participantes a lo largo de estas doce semanas y se
presentará en un lugar aún por determinar.
Los requisitos
para participar son sencillos: solo se necesita hablar español (puesto que las
actividades se organizarán en este idioma), muchas ganas de jugar y compromiso.
No se trata de un taller abierto y puntual, sino de un proceso continuo de
descubrimiento artístico que requiere de la participación de los actores. El
taller lo impartirá Raúl Quirós Molina, que ha trabajado durante años con la
técnica Boal en Londres y en Madrid.
Los talleres,
además, incluirán la visita de profesores invitados, tal y como ocurrió el año
pasado con Sergio Amigo, director del teatro Calder Bookshop.

Theatre of The Oppressed workshop by Luna Theatre
Luna Theatre presents the first theatre of the oppressed workshop of
2015 for Spanish speakers. For 8 weeks, we will be experimenting with the
different techniques created by Boal (Image Theatre, Forum Theatre) to find the
injustices and oppressions that affects us as community.
Our workshop is also a meeting point for expats in London and a place
for friendship and support.
Theatre of the Oppressed is a
drama movement created in the 60s by Augusto Boal that invites actors and
non-actors to participate in everyday injustices. Through several exercises and
games, participants realise the power of the community and the prejudices of
race, gender, sexual option or country of origin we are subject to.
During the workshop session, we will use body images to express what is
what we don't like from the world we live in, and what can we do to change it.
The workshop has the objective of presenting a little piece of Forum Theatre at
the end, in which we will invite the audience to take part and put their ideas
to solve a problem we will be dramatizing. This piece of drama will be devised
by the participants during 8 weeks.
There's very few requirements to take part of the workshop: be able to
speak and understand Spanish (as the workshop will be given in this language),
and lots of energy and commitment. This is not a drop-in workshop, but a
continuous process of artistic engagement with the community and other
participants. The workshop facilitator will be Raul Quiros Molina, who has been
using this technique for many years in Spain and England.
The workshops also will include guest teachers, as it happened last
year, with Sergio Amigo, theatre director and owner of Calder Bookshop and Theatre,
and an expert in Theatre of the Oppressed.
